Chiropody is a specialized field of medicine which emphasizes total foot management. Its name comes from the Greek words 'Chiros' and 'Pod' meaning 'care of the feet by hands'. Chiropody deals with all aspects of foot care, from initial assesment & diagnosis through treatment and appropriate follow-up.

and foot related problems and provide appropriate treatments while refering when neccessary. Whether it is a thickend unsightly toenail or an infected ingrown toenail that requires surgical intervention, or perhaps a painful corn or warts - we provide effective solutions to foot problems. We are specialist in foot & lower limb pain/dysfunction.

Although some problems may at first appear trivial, they can often have the potential to become more serious. Abnormal gait (walking) in children will frequently lead to foot deformaties and/or painful symptoms in the feet and legs. Children may even avoid physical activity because of either symptoms or a perception they areclumsy or awkward when the problem is actually gait related and often correctable! Without accurate diagnosis, problems such as these will progress into adulthood affecting participation
in physical activity or comfort at work.

Orthotics custom modulated devices that insert into footwear - or nail surgery, may form a part of the treatment plan to ensure effective results.

Are clinic fees covered by my medical plan?

Fees are covered under most extended health insurance plans such a Liberty Health, Green Shield and Veterns D.V.A. Our staff can help identify your fee coverage. Chiropody services are not included under O.H.I.P.
